Default High idling

Good Day All
i have a 1995 toyota camry 220sei , 413000km on the odometer. A couple of days ago i noticed that the idling stayed at 1000 to 1100 rpm whereas previously on startup it would be at 1100 and then drop to around 850 rpm. Now it stays at 1000 and goes up slightly to 1050 after driving and coming to a stop at a red traffic light. What is the correct rpm for this model and how do i get it to the correct rpm?

Correct RPM's are what was previously.

The engines throttle position is controlled by a cable. Make sure the cable is not sticking and the cause of the higher RPM.

Clean the IAC valve which controls idle RPM. The internet has videos on this. Use a cleaner that is safe for plastics as this valve is plastic.

I have a Camry V6 and was left sitting in the garage for a while. Started up and went to drive the idle sky rocketed and had to turn engine off. It was a cable under the engine and outer covering missing in one section. Probably sat too long and gumed up. Lubricated and will replace next time with one at bone yard.
