Default IAC valve removal and cleaning questions...

1993 Camry LE...

If I want to remove the IAC valve and clean it....

Here is a link to a pic for the exact part on my camry...
toyota camry Fuel Injection Idle Air Control Valve Standard Ignition

it seems easy to remove with only 4 bolts holding in place.

1) after unscrewing the 4 main bolts and removal of the IAC valve from the car, should I also unscrew the philips head screws and clean inside the plastic electrical housing portion of the valve?

2) to test the valve after i clean it before reinstalling, what leads of the elctrical connector are negative and positive? I'm thinking I can run wires from a 9v batter to connect to the electrical leads and see the interior parts move? (I had used a 9V battery and 2 wires to test the VSV valve once before for opening and closing and this method worked great, so I thought the 9v battery could be applied for easy testing on the IAC valve as well?)

3) If i cannot find a new IAC valve gasket at the parts store, can i still use the existing one?

thanks!
Brian
