Default My kids were locked in the car!!

I have a 2006 Camry. I had the car running, closed the driver's side door, and attempted to open the back seat doors to get my kids out. All the doors had locked! Why did this happen? My car had the original battery and I knew it needed to be replaced. (which I have done!) Could my battery be the cause of my locks not working properly??

I don't think so, I think the kid did something that made your kid locked.

unlikely, as one of them is 2 1/2 and the other is 4 months, so both of them were in car seats at the time.

Obviously you were able to access the car. Might repeat the setup leading to the door locking and determine if the same thing happens. If it happens again:

The auto lock system has various modes it can be set to. Check the owners manual and ask a dealer if this locking experience is one of these mode.

If random locking sometimes the key FOB can act up on it's own.

If the engine had started OK and was running at the time of the lock issue the alternator and battery would have been putting out enough power to easily run the system. The battery was not the cause.
