Default need more leg room.

looked at a 88 camry wagon today and its a bit cramped. would there be a problem getting about 2-3 inches extra adjustment farther back, adding a bracket or what ever?

its possible
if you want... move the the drivers seat floor rails back
with new holes and bolts

dont forget the seat belt has to work

there will be no room for an adult behind the driver

thats easier than i thought it would be. normally with rear seat folded down, front all the way back, whats the space between back of front seat and rear seat. one i saw was broken. i dont plan on rear passengers and would leave rear seats down

thanks for the help, bill

you are lucky an 88 doesnt have air bags or motorized seats

http://www.tcamanual.com/front_seat_...type_-807.html

to move the drivers seat rail back

the two front holding bolt tags on the front mounts of the slide ( will need a small modification )

you may need washers to act as packing on the bolts to keep both sides slide rails level

use nylox nuts on the bolts

I'm not buying that 88 and looking for a nice one. I wouldn't want electric seats but think air bags would be a plus?

I'd like to figure out which year they changed the chrome door handels to color match paint and rear view side mirror got arro, '89 maybe? but i'm not sure. I like the older look.

PS like said, that 4 cyl engine design is great. Lots of easy access to repair most any component bolted to motor.
