I know this is a ? that probably has been answered before, but I had a discussion with someone, and we were wanting to know, that if my 2006 camry has drum brakes in the rear, do they still have brake pads? can anyone clearly answer this ? for me, so I can let him know and for myself, I have not gotten to see the rear brake assembly yet. Thank you.

 

If having drums, the brake system has a drum and brake shoes.

If having rotors, the brake system has a combo drum and disk assy and both brake pads and brake shoes. The pads work with the rotor and the shoes are the parking brake system.
