Can anyone tell me something about these Techstream products?
The first one appears to be a later Version (ver 10.1) so would that be a better choice?
V10.10.018 MINI VCI for Toyota TIS Techstream Single Cable

 

V10. seems the later version so suggest this.

Before buying try to check the seller out by doing an internet search. Both products come from China and perhaps the same original source, who knows.

 

Do you know if the software version is more or less independant of the cable? For example if I buy the cable from Amazon (the earlier version) do you think it will work on the later version of the techstream software or is the software version somehow matched up with the cable?

 

If you look closely, the cable appears to be the same.

The cable should not matter.
