Very noisy if only open one of the back seat's window
Hi,
We just bought the new 2009 Camry and found there was one
anonying thing.
I would like to ask whether this is normal for camry car or just our car's problem.
When we open only one of the back seat's windows during driving(local or high way),
we hear very loud noise that really hurt our ears so that we have to close it. Should I take my car to let them check or do I miss something?
Thanks alot for your help,
Songbird

This is very typical in many cars. The airflow across the open window is creating a vacuum that feels like your head is inside a drum. If you open a front window slightly it goes away in most cases. My Equinox does the exact same thing. Most people don't ride around with just one rear window open so this usually goes unnoticed.
This is one reason you have a small deflector that pops up in front of many sunroofs. It deflects the airflow across the opening reducing the vacuum effect.
