From what I understand, my 2000 Camry does not have a MAF Sensor, but has a MAP sensor.

Is the MAP Sensor located on the airbox? My friend asked me to bring it over tomorrow and he will clean the MAP Sensor.

I also got a P0172 Fuel System Too Rich (Bank !)

P106 : Manifold Absolute Pressure/Baro Sensor Range/Performance

P0130 : O2 Circuit ( Bank 1, Sensor 1)

P0133 : 02 Circuit Slow Response (Bank !, Sensor 1)

Should I go ahead and change the bank 1 02 Sensor?

Is the Denso 234-4626 Upstream Oxygen Sensor an acceptable replacement? OEM parts are not in my price range.

My problems all started with a check engine light, a week prior to the scan that says I need to replace the MAF Sensor. That scan said I need to replace the EGR Valve. I bought one and when my neighbor was going to replace it. When He went to remove the old EGR, he discovered that one the vacuum lines coming out of the EGR Valve was dry rotted and broken.

He replaced and cleared the replace the EGR Valve code. Then the check engine light cane on again and that's when I went to AutoZone and got the codes regarding the MAF and O2 sensor's

 

The V-6 engine has a MAF sensor, the 4 cylinder does not.Before starting out determine to what emissions standard the vehicle was built to, California or Federal. This will make a difference in diagnosis and what parts are used. There should be a sticker under the hood with this info and or on the side of the driver's door.

The P-0106 is a 4 cylinder engine code. The MAP sensor is bolted to the center upper portion of the firewall. A vacuum hose runs to it from the intake manifold plus an electrical connection. It seldom fails. Check the hose for damage, the hose connection at each end, etc.

P-0172 is a general code. However this code refers to a vehicle built to California emissions standards. This code can be caused by engine intake and exhaust leaks, MAP sensor, ign, fuel issues.

Since P-0130 and P-0133 refer to the same senor replace that sensor. If 4 cylinder this is the first sensor on the exhaust system. Replace this sensor first then determine what happens with the other codes. As stated the sensor part number will depend on what emissions standard the vehicle was built to.

Denso is an excellent choice over Toyota parts. Denso builds parts for Toyota as Toyota still owns part of Denso.
