honestly neither.
do you have a v6 or i4?
adding them will only give you sound, it will NOT increase your performance. And if you have an i4, it really wont increase your performance.

If its for purely asthetics and sounds, then u can get either. Short is cheaper and more common while cold is less common but u canstill find em.

yes, please dont believe these advertisements about adding 15 hp.. yadayada . maybe 1-2 but like nodrogkam stated , its mostly for sound . i would reccommend the short ram if this is a car you drive daily . those long ones can suck up water in puddles (and yes it happens more than people think) .

also make sure the intake tubing has all the outlets for the vacuum hoses. mine lacked one and so i got a check engine for 1 unused vacuum hose.
filters are super important too.

Just to echo what everyone else put up. You won't get much performance out, although a CAI will give you more than a short ram. You'll get an even bigger performance increase though, when you combine the CAI with a good exhaust, and more yet with header(s). The CAI, however, is susceptible to water, although AEM and K&N come with the cover that reduces performace very slightly but protects from water and rocks and stuff. A lot of the time it is much easier to change the filter on the Short Ram than the CAI.

I'm fairly sure that AEM also makes a water seperator.

Because the stock airbox is already a CAI itself.. getting these will allow more air to flow, that's all. Believe me, its not gonna do 10-15hp.. more like 2 or 3.
