couldnt the short ram intake actually make performance worse for the engine?

short ram does nothing for performace. however, it sure does make the car sound great! But my car guy said that it isn't very gas efficient. I don't worry bout that, but just something to consider it you do

Yes it can, the reason being that SRI's suck up hot engine air, especially during low-speed operation.

I was thinking about this as well...and I decided on the short RAM. Actually a Weapon R model. I haven't ordered yet but once I get it installed I'll let you know how it goes...it's a 4cyl 94 Camry, and I guess I am doing it more for the sound than anything...

hey,
I'am thinking about putting a Short ram on my '89 V6 (for sound and asthetic+ the little bit more flowing air)

I will go to a local Garage ,no prob about creating one, I was just worried about the size of the air filter/POD (the tube is pretty big beside a civic one !____will i need a Corvette Pod? )

and the MAF sensor or 02 sensor ,'cause he is really fat and he have a little panel /second trottle bodi inside the Ram--before the flexible plastic tube).

so,in clear, can i put a short ram on my '89 V6 without having idle/engine check light probs ?(can i swap the MAF/02 sensor on the 'new' short ram?[X(])

thank guys/girls

and gratz to those who complety understood my question!
