Cool hello! :)

just picked up a camry in november. i had a Touareg V8 (loaded, it was so nice) but just was tired having a hole in my gas tank HAHA!

i drove this camry. hated it. bought it anyway because i knew it was a smart decision. it's a 2010 SE. 4 cyl. cloth. lacks navigation and garage door opener buttons :/

i don't really know anything about toyotas (been a Honda and VW owner) other than that scare with the gas pedal.... i totally did not do my research, but am overall happy with the maintenance costs ($30 for an oil change vs $120 in the Touareg!!)

just have a few questions for ya'll-
1. has anyone purchased factory nav and had it installed? this is one thing i CANNOT live without in Southern California! my phone is not a suitable substitute for navi!! Or does anyone have an after market nav system (NOT a tomtom or garmin) that they absolutely love and recommend?

2. ipod connection?

3. that annoying beep when you lock AND unlock the car!!! can this be disabled? it annoys my life.

below is the old whip and the new one (bad qual) the pics may be rather large, so apologies.

i look forward to learning about Toyotas, and meeting new people!!
kacie (:

Suggest an aftermarket nav system due to cost.

Crutchfield has a good selection. As to which one is best might ask at the Toyotanation website.

Is there an Ipod connection in the glove box? Check owners manual.

There is also an Ipod connection kit from the dealer.

You can have the ipod aux in installed, and it would work for anything that has a headphones out. As far as the beeping goes - not sure. Also, the GPS - sorry dude, but Tom Tom rocks my world!

Depending on the navigation system you get, it will probably a ipod connection already. Aftermarket nav systems are cheaper, but if you want to keep your car from looking kinda pieced together, then a stock nav is the way to go. No clue about the beeping issue, i Hav just learned to ignore mine. By the way, welcome to the site.
