The tray is very full of coins and i would like to empty it completely but it sets in a downward position at the rear of drawer and is very shallow so a lot of coins are piled up in the back of the tray witch is not exposed , i am afraid some coins may fall out into the dash and short out something out.

So you were able to remove the coin drawer?

I never use the coin drawers for reasons you state but have a small coin box inside the center console storage area.

As to shorting something out, liquids might do something, coins doubt it.

If the coin box has a flip up metal plate. Pull box out, allow plate to flip up. Then press plate down and pull out box. The flipped up plate keeps the box from coming up.

I took a butter knife to help me remove all the coins that were piled up in the rear of tray, from what i can tell the track for the tray or underside shows no type of release and i don't recall any plate that flips up ,but i will check that latter today.
