Default New Guy question

I do not yet own a Camry, however I am looking at a 94 Camry LE coupe that has 143K on it that is in excellant condition. I just need a get to work car because my Tundra really likes gas!! They want $3900 for it. What are anyones thoughts on this and what are some things I should look for if I go look at it? Thanks.

This generation of Camry was one of the best made by Toyota. A solid built car, very good engine, etc.

The repairs are well known. If you send a private message with email address can supply a list of items to check.

Expect an overall MPG of 26. For long steady speed hwy trips this can get into the low 30's.

The price may or may not be too high based on market value. The issue is when the car hits 120-140k things start to wear out as typical of all cars and this costs money to fix.

And if the car did not have ongoing maintenance such as replacing the trans fluid sometime between now and being a new car the trans tends to start having issues as a result of dirty, worn out fluid. Leading to trans replacement.

If you have the list of typical repair items you can determine if the owner experienced and fixed these, what repairs may be coming up, etc. Then determine any needed repairs and near future expenses and factor this into the price.

If the car is in excellent condition, well kept, ongoing repairs of any problems, etc, then in my opinion it will be excellent transportation.

The car does not handle that great on snow or ice, snow tires might help.

you should look for the condition of engines and the gas wouldn't be expensive.
