Purchasing a used 2002 Camry LXE
Hi
I'm a newbie here and I will be picking up my "used" 2002 Toyota Camry LXE next Wednesday. I purchased it from an 82 year old gentleman and the car has 27,000 km's on in (Approx. 15,000 miles) So I figure for a 2 and ½ year old car, that's pretty low mileage.
The car has just about every bell and whistle you can think of, plus it comes with 4 extra rims and winter new winter tires. The car was given the Toyota lifetime rust protection when it was purchased by the original owner. It has the 2.4 litre engine, which I'm hoping I don't regret over the 6 cyl. I've had the car checked out, and the only thing they could find wrong with it was the rear brake calipers, which need to be replaced. Can't seem to figure that out. I'm not doubting the mileage, but I do find it strange that the rear calipers would have to be replaced after only that many miles, then again, I'm not a mechanic in any way, shape or form.
My question is this. Is there anything I should know about the 02 Camry LXE that I should be concerned about. Things like recalls etc.
I'm glad I found this forum, and hopefully will find some interesting comments about this year and model of Camry over the next little while.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Oh, and by the way, I am CanEHdian and I hope you don't hold that against me lol[sm=americanasmiley.gif][sm=thanx.gif]

Damn Canadian, just kidding. No major problems that I know of,could have just had some weaker calipers (no car is going to be perfect, new or used) and if he drove in the snow,he would have used the brakes more.

Welcome to the Camry Forums. Sounds like a nice car. My 1992 has approx. 215,000 now. I bought it in January with 211,000 on it. Can't complain because I average 30 - 32 mpg with the 2.2L 4cylinder. Hope you enjoy the forum.
