England's Lee Westwood's chances of Golf Clubs claiming his first major was dealt a blow yesterday as he failed to play in his second practice round.
The European number two was lying sick in his bed yesterday morning with what was though as food poisoning.
Chubby Chandler, Westwood's manager said that Westwood became ill on Monday evening, suffering from stomach pains and vomiting. Mizuno MP-58 Irons And mizuno mp-52 irons the following morning after spending a bad night, Westwood sought medical help from a nearby Doctor. "The doctor said it was probably food poisoning. It's something he ate. It is not a bug, and it is not contagious." Said Chandler, also manager to Mizuno MP-60 Iron Set Irishman Darren Clarke.
Westwood was given medication to replace the lost fluids in his body and was told to rest for the remainder of the day.
Westwood, Mizuno MP 62 Irons who practised on Monday with his team-mate Darren Clarke, was planning to return to the course for more practice on this morning.
