Default What is "Group Buy"?

I'm new to this forum. I noticed a mention of Group Buy in my Profile, and did a quick search, but only found mentions of it, but not exactly what it is/means? Can someone help?

I am also new and wondered the same thing. I also wonder why no one has answered this question from 05/02/08 to now... 05/23/08. Is there really as such thing as a group buy? It sounds like a lot of members getting together to purchase Toyota items for a bulk rate discount. Is that what it is???

This is just an example but when i was really big into my fish tanks we would have group buys on salt, fish food and so on. This would only take place on local people to you. They would all get together and say hey lets get some salt, one person would make the big group order and the others would pay that one person then you would get your salt a few days later in the mail. This would save you a lot since it was a lot ordered at once.

Now for the camry forums i am not sure maybe air filters mod kits and other car accessories?

Hope this helps,

Tim

Yes, Tim is exactly right on describing what a group buy is. In my own experience though, only 1 out of every 10 group buy seem to work out since a lot of people tend to backout of group buys as the sign up process to get the set number of people tends to lag longer and longer.
