Default 4 runners...

Hey everyone,

Just a general question here.I am a big camry fan, however,I'm thinking of getting a 4 Runner.Anybody have any general comments/advice as to how they drive? How about the 4WD,can it be on or off only as necessary?

The V6 model of the 4runner can switch from 2wd to 4wd, the V8 is always in 4WD.

my friend has a '93 4runner with 3.0 v6 and automatic with 4wd. he gets about 15mpg when in 2wd(mostly city). Also, the thing is teribly slow (my '91 camry could beat it no problem ). At around 160,000 miles he had to change the rear differential. Other than that it's a good car. But I don't know anything about the new ones so I don't even know why I'm replying hehehehehe!

if you were to get a 4runner.. i would recommend 2000 models and up because the V6 they have are then 3.4 instead of the 3.0 which is a pain to work on. my brother has a 95 Limted 4runner with the 3.0 and it had quiet a bit of problem with the cooling system.

Ive owned 2 4Runners: an '85 and a '91. I loved both of them. They drive nice and ride very smooth, but they definetely dont corner as well as a Camry.
They fuel economy is pretty pathetic too. You will be lucky to pull over 16-18 mpg on the highway. 4Runners are nice if you need to drive off-road or in snow, need lots of passenger room and need to pull a trailer.

The toyota 4runner is a thoroughly modern but traditional sport utility.

The V8 benefits from a more sophisticated variable-valve setup with drive-by-wire, boosting its output to 270 horsepower, substantially more than last year's 235.

Toyota 4runner is a very thrilling one! Try to go across the rocky roads! That is why I really wanted a new Toyota. I found a car dealership in Atlanta to help me through this good site. It showed all the very best deals on new cars.

4runner is definitely something special!
I would definitely drive it across some rocky roads, indeed.
