Default Auto-Sunroof: Worth the Investment or Just a Gimmick?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been considering getting a car with an auto-sunroof, but I’m on the fence. I love the idea of extra sunlight and ventilation, but I’ve heard they can be prone to leaks, mechanical failures, or added maintenance costs.

For those who have experience, how reliable are auto-sunroofs in daily use? Does it affect insurance or resale value significantly?

Also, is the comfort/ambience factor worth the potential downsides?

Any tips on what to look for when buying a car with one would be really helpful!

Also, if I get an auto sunroof, should I go through an auto sunroof shop in Mississauga, and is the comfort/ambience factor worth the potential downsides?

thanks in advance for any help

Research the particular year and model for the best idea of problematic cars.
My '12 Camry has had zero issues and I barely use it.
My '15 Ford SHO leaked. No matter what I did. No matter what the dealer did. Same thing with my '01 Monte Carlo.
