Question Diamond Edition??

Hi,

I just bought a 1994 Camry XLE, it has Diamond Edition Badges on the front q-panels. I have done some quick searches, but have not found any references to a "Diamond Edition". Has anyone every heard of this? Are they rare or am i just a bad internet searcher?

In 1994 Toyota Hawaii (Servco Pacific) had Toyota Motor Corp. build them 75 Diamond Camrys. For their 75th year in business. 40 had leather and 35 had cloth interiors. They all had production date 01/94, XLE with no sun roof, Japan serial number, paint code 051(pearl white), oak interior, 1MZ engine, ES300 rims. These cars were built at the Japan assy. plant by Toyota. They went on sale in Feburay 1994.

I've got a 2002 Camry with diamond edition badges and I can't find any reference to it's existence anywhere. Is it possible the paperwork is not accurate and it is a different year?

From what I can tell, the Diamond edition is fairly rare and is a luxury type option. These diamond editions seem to have all the typical luxury features and a landau top. It makes me think that a Camry and a Caddy Deville had a baby. I do not see too much info on them out there and I have no idea about their desirability or how many were actually manufactured.
Because I cannot find too much info on them does intrigue me and I think that you have a pretty special Camry.

I guess I'll need to contact Toyota directly and see if they have any info. I'm in a battle with a family member over the car and need to find any details that I can. Finding the value alone could turn the tide.

2002 Toyota Camry for sale by Flamingo Auto Sales, Used Car, Truck and SUV dealer in the Fort Myers, FL area

I'm not sure about the value but this one sold for decent money. I'm not sure when it sold though either.
Good luck fighting the family for it and sorry that is what you have to do as well.

Hi the information on 1994 Camry may help for you.....
The Camry V40 appeared in July 1994 exclusively for the Japanese market. The Toyota Vista twin continued on,although the Camry Prominent hardtop was no longer offered only the Vista was available as a hardtop. As before in previous generations, the Camry was exclusive to Toyota Corolla Store, while the Vista was only available at Toyota Vista Store locations.
Engines for the V40 were a 1.8-liter (4S-FE type) and 2.0-liter (3S-FE type),and a 2.2-liter turbodiesel(3C-T type). At launch only the 2.0-liter model was available in all-wheel drive mode, although afterwards the 2.2-liter turbodiesel could be optioned with this system.
