Default Hiring a Private Driver What Should I Know?

Hi everyone,

I’m considering hiring a private driver for daily commutes and occasional long trips, but I’m not sure what to expect or look out for. What are the main benefits of having a private driver compared to using rideshare apps or taxis?

Are there important things I should keep in mind when it comes to contracts, insurance, or safety checks? I’d also love to hear how people handle payment whether hourly, daily, or monthly. If you’ve hired one before, what worked well and what would you do differently?

Any advice would be really helpful!

Though I have never hired a private driver, I'll weigh in my thoughts and opinions.
If you are just bopping around town and there is some slack in regards to time frames, then Uber or Lift should be fine.
If you have a lot going on and time frames are more pertinent, then I would say hiring a personal driver might be worth it. I would probably look at service local to my area, most likely they have done a background checks, etc. Also, a local service will probably have more modern vehicles.
A lot of this will also depend on the area where you live. Areas like LA California will have multiple services while North Dakota might not.
