When I first start the car and try to.engage ev mode the low battery warning comes on.. but after driving awhile I can change it into ev mode .. is this a 12 volt warning on my 12 volt system or ?? Is it related to the main battery system . ( 2014 camry hybrid xle model )

Do you have the trans in neutral?

 

I am in park too start with but when it is running awhile it's in drive forward then it engages to take the command to change to ev mode !! The low battery warning is on the dash in the middle of the speedometer area

 

Is this the dash icon shaped like a battery which is illuminating?

 

Reply -- no its a full English sentence warning so after awhile I can engage the ev mode . Just wondering if it's main battery being low and then charging a little after awhile and it is able too engage then after taking a charge from the engine after driving !!!

 

Main hybrid battery.

The battery needs to have a certain % charge to engage EV mode. If not having this then the warning comes on and it doesn't engage. Once the battery has enough charge EV mode will engage.

Appears to be normal system operation.
