Hi folks,

purchased this reallly cheap, now I know why (bought it for my girl-
to get her out of a real mileage hog). The differential is pretty much shot.

I gambled it was just an axle........ Anyhow, trying to find a good used
trans- unsure if its a 3 or 4 spd auto though?!

Tough find, so I'm wondering.... could I do anything with a 95 trans-
I know the general years for each breed is 91-94, and 95-98/99??

I'm welcome to any info people could provide on my little dilemma here......

The trans model should be listed on a sticker on drivers door side. Model should start with the letter "A" perhaps as below, but could also be another letter. followed by 2-3 numbers.

3-speed might be A132L.

4-speed might be A242L.

For number of speeds perhaps the shifter has 1, 2, 3, D or 1, 2, D. The more numbers the more speeds.

Neither trans have ever been used in Camry.

One issue is even if the same model trans was used from xx to yy years it may have had changes made making swapping more difficult.

Suggest you find out the model number or at least number of speeds and post ask at the Toyotanation.com website in the appropriate year and model forum where you will find members up on Tercel.
