RE: Bigger Tires
yeah your speedometer read wont be much i changed my 99 camrys tires from 205/65/15 to 235/45/17 and the guy at shop was a best friends so he showed me on the speedometer test and when my speedometer read 70 mph the car was only going 69mph. it was so little of a difference you wont tell

RE: Bigger Tires
so if i wanted to go with a bigger rim, ie: 18's...as long as i stick with the same size tire, its not going to effect the speedo??
also, (keep in mind im new to the toyota world...) with my 07' LE, how do i tell which generation it is? i think from what i have read, its gen 6.
i know that might seem like a dumb question.

RE: Bigger Tires
okay-
TPMS : This counts the rotation of each wheel and if one wheel is not in sync w/the rotation count, then it'll throw a light to aware you. Thats all.. switching rims isn't a problem.
Generation count:
Gen 3: 1993-1996
Gen 4: 1997-2001
Gen 5: 2002-2006
Gen 6: 2007- on.

RE: Bigger Tires
Yes...your TPMS will still work. Just make sure they're installed correctly and seal with the wheel. It's done all the time though. Just tell the folks at the tire place up front so their people don't accidentally install with regular valve stems.

RE: Bigger Tires
I replaced the OEM 215/60-16 tires with a set of 245/45-18 on my 07 LE with no problems. They are mounted on 18x8” wheels with +40mm offset. See the link below for more info. My speedometer was only affected by about 1 MPH as verified by before and after readings taken with my Nuvi 660
