Default Questions about coilovers

Hi. I just bought my 2004 black LE about a month ago after having my license revoked for 5 years. I love it. I have never modified any car I've ever had before, so I'm new to all this. So far, I've put 17 inch black rims on, 3 dvd screens, GPS, blacked out windows, blacked out tail/headlights, removed all the chrome and had everything else painted black. It's the blackmobile. Now I want to work on lowering it. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY? Springs or coilovers? Do coilovers cover struts (are they part of the coilovers?), or do performance struts need to be purchased too? I told you, I know nothing. But the only way to learn is ask questions. Also, what are some ways to get some extra horsepower that will cost under $1000 (per mod)? Thanks for any and all help anyone can give.

A coil over setup can allow for varying spring compression and lowering the car and may require struts designed for this system. If you just want to lower the car, purchasing lowering spring that install with your current struts is much cheaper. A Google search will turn up lots of info on this subject plus a host of manufactures. If the car has a 4 cylinder increasing HP is difficult because the head has poor airflow. The engine was designed for good fuel economy and urban driving. Thus intake and exhaust mods don’t gain much HP.

I have the TRD springs and koni shocks on my camry and it feels much better. But you can fine coilover kits that have everything you need for around 900- 1500 depending on what you want to dowith your car. But coilovers have to be serviced around every five years or so. Good luck-

Thanks for the info guys. I did some research online as suggested and decided to go with the TEIN coilover kit for around $1250. Thanks for your help.

Thanks. That's what I've decided to go with. I found a TEIN coilover set up for $1267 online, that's the cheapest I could find for that particular set up.
