Default steering rack removal and installlation

So here it is, a nice sunday and I decided to take on my streering rack issue. First I had to put it on jacks and as shown in this picture it was not high enough so I had to jack it up more.

I had to use a screw driver to spread the knuckle in order to slide it off the spline. Any good ideas for getting it on the new rack? Its really in a tough spot.

Finally, I got the rack out but it wasn't easy. The one thing that is not mentioned in the Haynes manual is that there is a cable (I think its the gear selector cable for the transmission) and that has to pushed up and out of the way.

So heres a real stumper. Check out the hole where the rack bolt mount goes . . it is in the bottom of this picture. It is oval and it should be round. This mount is a part of the sub fram and cannot be replaced. This is what started this whole mess. It was because the rack wast moving back and fourth (and leaking a little)that I felt the need to replace it. . . . What can I do to correct this problem?

What is really gonna keep me up @ night is wondering what to do about the holes where the rack mounts to the frame. I really need a good solution for this one. The bolts were really reallytight so it is not like they flopping around. HELP!
