Default wheel stud replacement

i am currently taking the wheels off my mothers car but the mechanic who put the wheels on overtorqued the nuts on and cross-threaded the studs. does anyone have a write up on how to replace the wheel studs. i dont want to take the whole axle apart if i dont have to. thanks in advance

Default RE: wheel stud replacement

The studs are pressed in. There should be enough room to push the stud out from behind without taking the car apart.

Some owners drive the stud out with a hammer but a stud press is easier on the car. See link below:

An auto parts store or the Toyota dealer should have the new studs, bring an old one in to compare.
