Default Hood Compatibility

Hi Everyone:

Still new to the forums. I tried running some searches but didn't see anything helpful. I was in an accident a few months back and I'm trying to get my '98 LE back up and running (only has 58,xxx miles ). I need to replace the hood and I'm not sure what will work compatibility wise. Will any year from the XV20 generation (97-01) hood fit my car?

Also, my air filter housing box was shattered and I need to replace that as well.

Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

-Jonathan

Hood is 97-01 for all Camry models. Box appears 97-99 (4 and 6 cylinder are not the same part).

Toyota list OEM part as either Japan or US built (there is a sticker on the drivers door stating where built or can use VIN number) but aftermarket parts do not.

Parts are available via internet as used, New Toyota OEM and new after market. Check Craigslist for someone parting out a car, Ebay, salvage yards. Given the number of Camry built might search for used hood in your color to avoid needing to paint the part.

Shop around for prices as at some sites used OEM hood can cost more then the new OEM hood from a discount Toyota dealer. Get an idea as to prices which can via greatly especially on used parts.
