putting after market in? i went to meijer and bought an adapter/wire harness and wired it into the back of my radio. then i connected the 2 harness's (one from car one from radio) and it was done. ind you this was on a 94 and i think 98 was the first year of the new setup but i would look to see if you can do it that way.

ae I know how to hook up a radio. I'm asking about the power wire to an amp. for my subs. i'm a certified insatller and the only reason i ask is because in some vehicles there are spaces to run wires pre drilled in the fire wall i have never worked on a camry before and sometimes these holes are hard to locate so i figured i would ask. but, thanks for the info man. I just wish it could help with the question...

I ran mine on my 98 LE through the firewall (the only drilled hole) but in wiring my foglights I found another option. If you pull the left side (assuming LH drive) inner front fenderwell down you will see the main harness. Follow the harness to the firewall and you will see a big rubber boot for the hood release cable. You can poke a hole in this and run your wire in through there. Up to 4AWG is probably okay but anything bigger may not fit. The rest of my run follows the harness to the rear and through available holes.
