Default can 99 Camry support a double din head unit?

I want to get a 7" touch screen setup with Nav, DVD, ect . . . My dash has a regular sized head unit in it right now, and it has another equal sized shelf underneath it. Will that whole shelf pop out to fit a double sized head unit? thanks.

Yes. There were factory stereo options having a CD player, etc. that took up the spot now occupied by the shelf.

The double space size would be called a double DIN II, the single space DIN. Both are industry standard sizes. Double DIN = 4 in by 7in.

Toyota does you bracket to attach their stereo.

See link below for more details on stereo installation:

Absolutely....here's my now totaled '99 Camry with a JVC double din. BTW, that head unit is for sale if anyone's interested. I've moved on to a '06 Camry and a Kenwood DD head unit.
