Default Control iPod through factory installed radio

Hi, I've just purchased a 2011 Camry LE. My Camry has an AUX jack for an iPod and I have been able to connect the iPod using a 3.5mm cable. However, it seems I am not able to control the iPod through the radio.
If I want to skip a song or scroll through my playlist I have to do it on the actual iPod.

My radio has a CD player and it has an AUX button. I have numbers 1 - 6 for preset radio stations....if that information helps at all. Do I need to purchase a kit or am I just missing something?

Thanks for any suggestions....much appreciated

Default USB not aux

You need the USB input to control the ipod through your stereo. The only thing an aux does on any kind of equipment is transmit audio. Youre gonna have to control it on the iPod from here on out, unless you get an aftermarket radio.

Sources: Ive been installing car audio equipment for about 5 years.
Ive been working at Toyota for about 2 months.
