Hey, how easy is it to remove the tape deck component?
I want an MP3/CD installed since the stock model Conquest doesn't have it.

 

You will need to remove the finish trim panel around the radio and A/C control panel. The panel is one piece and held in with plastic clips moulded to the panel arond the side edges. If the panel has the lighter, disconnect the plug on the back.

You will need to GENTLY pry the panel out using a taped over screwer or something thin to get between panel and other trim.

THe radio is held in be 4 bolts, easy to remove once the trim is off. Then uplug the radio harness.

 

Thanks for that, got it out this weekend gone but was surprised to see an extra lead that "didn't exist" according to the manuals. I'm guessing this is a lead to an optional amp so will leave it without panicking now.

 

How many plugs did the harness have?

 

It had 3, sorry the "mystery cab;e" was for a CD changer.
