Default 1994 Camry - A/C mode control stuck on defrost

How’s it going y’all? My first post here…hoping to pick the brains of those who have “been there, done that.” I just recently inherited a 1994 Camry, 2.2L from my grandmother. It’s in great shape mechanically…only 110k miles. Just last week the A/C mode control decided it only wanted to allow air to be directed out of the front defroster. I was wondering if this was a fairly common problem and if so, would it more likely be the mode controller itself or the linkage?
I’m just looking to get an idea of what I’m getting into before I start dismantling the dash assembly…any words of advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Did you find the problem to this issue? Mine is doing the same where the two center vents stopped working except for the floor, defrost and left and right vents too. I trouble shoot the mode controler switch and it's all good. any help?
