I have a 2003 Toyota Camry with the 2.4 L 2AZFE engine it is the Japan version. I found a 2006 Toyota Camry with the same engine just it was manufactured in the United States. I was wondering if I have to switch anything out on it or emissions or anything I’m assuming one has federal and the other one has California

 

There is a sticker on the side of the drivers door stating if the car is California or Federal compliant.

Between years Toyota changed the throttle body, throttle position sensor and knock sensor designs.

 

Ok that’s what was thinking so I will just use the ones that came off the original engine think you

did you ever figure anything out? I did a swap similar to this and the car will start but die almost immediately.

 

Or mine workin fine with just a few components being switched over, kept dying because my intake boot was loose
