I just changed the oil again on our 2010 Camry SE equipped with the 2.5L 2AR-FE inline four cylinder engine and took pictures of the process.

I created a guide to help out other owners with the procedure. It should be the same if not very similar for 2007-2009 Camrys with the 2.4L or any 07-11 with the 3.5L V6.

All of the V6 engines like the newer 2.5L I4 use the cartridge style filters while the 07-09 2.4L use the traditional spin on canister filters.

I'd highly recommend buying the Purolator brand of replacement cartridge filter elements since they come with a handy little white plastic drain tool.

Here's a picture of the drain tool that comes with the Purolator filter. It also comes with the two replacement rubber o-rings.

 

Great tutorial. I tried my first oil change today for my 2010 Camry. The problem I am facing is that when I try to remove Filter Drain Bolt, whole assembly (housing) turned instead. I ended up with replacing only big o-ring, not the small one since I could not separate it from the housing unit. I googled online, found out somebody else had similar situation as I had, how could I fix it? thx
