94 Camry 2.2l defrost always on

Default 94 Camry 2.2l defrost always on
I have been struggling with this issue for a while. I know my mode actuator is working and everything that moves is supposed to. I have found the culprit which is a rod that has been broken off the a clip. I can’t figure out where the rod connects too.

I know about that thread. But I need some more info about where the rod connects.
