Default check engine light decoded

i got my check engine light decoded it said insufficent flow to egr. does this mean i have to take my egr off and clean the passages? also my air bag light came on with out being deployed i checked online and it is a real pain to reset and the dealer wants 90 dollars an hour to diagnose the problem is there a tester i can buy to do this myself?

Insufficient flow can be carbon in the EGR ports which would require removing the valve. It can also be the system the controls the valve.

There was another recent question on this with a link to actual diagnostics. Search this sit for posts on EGR.

Yes, there are testers (scanners) that can do this. You will however need to find a scanner that will work the Toyota airbag codes as all do not have this capability. When researching make sure the verbiage states it scan Toyota SRS codes and clear them.

What year is the car?
