so far all of my door handles have broke on my le and i found out le handles and regular handles are not the same and the wrecking yard wants 35 bucks for used handles if i can find them. is this a known weakness it is the outer part that breaks i bought one so far just to get in the car. then my back door on the drivers side won't open from the outside and of course it is the only original that's not broken. is there a cheaper source online for these handles or is there a recall.?

Handles break but not a "weakness."

If drivers door will not open from outside. Suggest removing door panel ASAP for access to lock mechanism. It has happened the inside door handle also fails then stuck trying to get the panel off with door closed.

 

I have a 1995 Camry XLE 200K and my drivers side broke. It's not a weakness, its just old. 20+ years and still going. Toyomoho is right. I have had good luck on ebay.
