Default GPS Antenna

My GPS antenna on my 2002 Camry got hooked on the garage door as my wife was backing out, the atenna shaft broke off however, the base is still intact, called the dealer $524.00 for a new part, which they said includes cabling. Does anyone know if the outside unit can be replaced without re-cablling back to the dash? Or can the antenna be glued back into the base?

I think it will, if it still included in the warranty.

The antenna comes with the wiring to the dash. Doubt if the antenna can be re-glued as most likely one piece design.

Might ask this question at the Toyotanation website where the number of viewers and experience with GPS is higher.

If looking for a replacement suggest starting with auto salvage yards. If the part is this expensive new the yard may be pulling them for resell. Often a yard can pull and ship a part to you.
