I have a 95 LE that has a non-working power antenna. It sounds like the motor works, but the antenna doesn't go up or down. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm probably going to try and fix it myself since I can't mess it up any more than it already is, but just thought i'd pick other owners minds for some helpful tips. Has anyone fixed or repaired this item themselves?

 

i have a '96 camry le with the same problem. actually, i've seen so many models with the same problem that it's rare i see one with a fully functional one! i bought a replacement antenna online and tried to replace it, but i couldn't get the original one off.

there are 2 screws that bolt it onto a framing but somehow there is something else that attaches it at the point it extends from the exterior. can't see/feel any screws, but can feel some type of small clip/latch that i pried with a flathead screwdriver but still won't release/slip out the antenna.

any suggestions would be appreciated.
