How to mount clips (2) for side drip rail
I am trying to replace the side drip rail moulding on my 2004 Toyota Camry SE. I have the OEM Moulding and it came with two little plastic clips for the front and back. They have a strip of epoxy of some kind that I believe is supposed to adhere to the metal of the rail by heating it up. I have tried with a heat gun but it doesn't stick. I don't think there is anything to peel off on the clip.....has anyone applied these little clips successfully? Maybe I'm not getting the drip rail hot enough? Thanks!
Thanks for posting the repair manual instructions. I stumbled upon them earlier and tried to follow but am not sure what is meant by "press fit" the clips. I did try heating the area with a heat gun but maybe didn't get it hot enough. I am particularly trying to verify that the little pad under the clip is indeed adhesive to be melted and doesn't require additional adhesive to attach it. I sacrificed one of the clips and heated it directly with the heat gun and couldn't get the little white pad to melt (although the plastic clip itself did).
