Thumbs up K&N Filter for 2010 Camry V4 SE

Hey guys,
I thought of replacing the OEM air filter in my 2010 Camry SE (V4), with a K&N air filter. Used the part finder in Amazon and was told that the K&N 33-2370 Replacement Air Filter should work fine.
Drove 10 mi to a Pepboys, they confirmed that the 33-2370 is the one I should get, got the filter and when I tried to replace it, I found that the filter is about a half inch longer than the compartment. I am all confused now. Do you know what could cause this? Am I supposed to wedge the air filter in somehow? Your help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Try contacting K&N and ask.

Their website is below:

http://www.knfilters.com/

Phone: (800) 858-3333 or (951) 826-4000

Might ask at the Toyotanation website. Members are using their products.

Question

K&N filters should be a direct replacement for the OEM (ie no modifications needed, and the same way you removed the old one is the way to install the new one).

Do you have any pictures of the misfitting filter?

hmm, that was my understanding too. I have never had problems with the k&n filters before. the store where I got it from just had one filter in stock and so i returned it, even though I could not really compare with another one and see if it was a wrong filter in the box. so, no pictures. I read the specs of a napa filter for the camry and the k&n filter and the k&n filter definitely was a few mm longer.

Sorry, its an I4. I wrote to K&N and they told me that the filter I tried on is the right one. I am going to try again and see if it works.
I can tell you that K&N's tech support is excellent and I got a reply in 12 hrs flat.

If no luck try the Toyotanation website. Many owners have used the K&N filter.
