Default oil recommendation

hi, just bought a 1999 camry with 4 cylinder. 149,000 miles, very clean and maintained. I want it to last a long time and was wondering what oil you guys recommend. I will do the maintainence myself . I dont know what oil was used previous to me, but filter looks new and fluids are clean. any advice useful. thanks.

I gotta be honest with you, I use whatever is a a name brand that is cheap. I'll use NAPA brand and the like with no problems ever.

I use conventional synthetic blend.
If you are going full synthetic, I recommend Mobil 1. I had a Mitsubishi 3000GT that only used Mobil 1. When the engine got torn down for a water pump/clutch/valve job, it was immaculate inside. I can vouch for Mobil 1.

decided on high mileage penzoil conventional for now. did oil change yesterday. going to monitor oil usage over the next 1,000 miles. if little or no usage might consider mobile 1. I dont want leaking synthetic oil.

Agreed! Synthetic will expose any leaks that you may have.
