Default RTV on oil pump

Hi folks, I'll be replacing my oil pump gasket and pulley seal. I've been watching videos of how it's done, and on some videos they recommend applying RTV to one side of the pump housing before reassembly.

Is this necessary? I would think that if the gasket is a Toyota gasket I should be fine.

Any other tips would be appreciated, thank you.
Ben

I don't think so ..RTV act as a lubricant and cause the rubber gasket to slip out of place and split, creating an opportunity for leaks. Used anaerobic sealant instead..like this https://www.autopartsway.com/search....search:sealant
