The clock circuit has a digital timer IC. The timer may use an external reference input voltage to control clock rate. Recheck the circuit to make sure there are no cold solder joints. The result being a lower voltage input to the reference input of IC and slower clock speed. Which equals a slow clock.

If possible also check capacitor function as these can fail with age.

The internet has various circuits for digital clocks which may help in understanding the circuit the clock has.

Toyota has no information beyond external clock wiring.
