I recently did an alternator and battery change on my 2011 Camry, 1 wire of the alternator got damaged and the guy fixing it for me saudered it back, but after that the wiring didn't seem to sit properly and it threw the low power/battery light when it got jostled, so he told me I could put a bit of epoxy on the outside of the repaired area and it could hold it to the correct area. I did that as he suggested but now my fan stays on when the car is off and key out, and turn off at seemingly random. The car is no longer showing the battery light or having power issues, as far as I can tell, beyond being drained by this fan's constant operation.
Could I have gotten epoxy somewhere inside the alternator and damaged something or is it something unrelated to the alternator and just a coincidence?

 

What engine V-6 or 4-cylinder?
