Default 93' AT ECU vs MT ECU

My auto tranny is on its last leg, and I would perfer to have a manual tranny anyway. I've done some serious work on cars so the swap isn't a big deal, what I'm worried about is if the timing will be screwed up after I put the manual tranny in. Should I get an ECU out of a camry with a manual tranny? Or will it run ok with the AT ECU?

I believe you will need a different ecu because the computer controls the shifts in the auto. So your ecu would be sending shift signals to a manual trasmisson. I would almost think the wiring would be diff on the manual
