Default A/C controls dimmed

I have an 01' LE, and have had this problem ever since I got the car two and a half years ago. When I turn on the headlights, all internal instuments are illuminated correctly except for the A/C controls. The right side of the controls are good to go, but the left is really dimmed. At times it'll all be correct, but mostly it's not. Has anyone experienced this, or knows how to fix this problem?

My 98 camry did the same thing, I don't how it fixed itself but all I did was hit the side that was not lit and the lights came back on and never did it again, but if you want you can switch out the bulbs which is the hardest thing ever besides taking out the instrument cluster and see if that works out for you. Hope this helps.

i currently am in that situation where my ac lights sometimes are dim or dont come on at all, like JanSport said, i usually hit the side that is not lit up and it comes back on. i guess im just too lazy to change the bulb and see what happens after.

Well, I tried the whole banging the side thing, and it works, but just for the trip. When I get back in the car and restart it, the same problem occurs. I don't know when I'm going to change the bulb, but I will eventually.
