Hi i live in mexico and i need a new ECU computer . the part number they gave me which is nearly $900 is 89661-06C30 which is the Mexican spec on the 2007 V6. Does anyone know is the US spec 89661-06C40 will work or the 89661-06B30. not sure why the mexican camrys have a different spec.... thanks

 

These US spec ECU's you post are for a 4 cylinder.

There is a large market for used US ECU's in the US, perhaps Mexico is the same way with Mexican cars. US auto salvage yards sell used ECU's and can search or post to a service for a specific part. Visit or call a Mexico auto salvage yard with the part number and find out what they can do.

Can also post in wanted auto section on Craigslist Mexico.

The Mexico spec car may have different emissions.

The computer is spec'd for a cars year, engine, trans and emissions.

There are outlets that for a fee will repair ECU's, check the internet.

 

cant find them anywhere apart from new in mexico and tried all internet sites. does anyone know if they are interchangable with the US 89661-06C40 ?????

 

The part number 89661-06C40 is for a 4-cylinder engine. It will NOT WORK with a V-6 engine! Ditto for the other part number listed in your original post.

Suggest you view computers available on Ebay US. Then find a seller who sells lots of computers (perhaps outlet for a salvage yard) and ask if there are any ECU's compatible your part number.

Or find a seller on Ebay stating they repair computers for a fixed cost.
