Default No Cruise because of Brake?

Hello, My cruise control hasn't worked for a little while now and I thought it was a bad Cruise Control Servo...so I replaced it...twice, and it still didn't work. So I have a different idea. I think it has something to do with my parking brake. I have a cable somewhere along my parking brake that is broken and because of that I have the "brake" light on my dashboard always on. Could the sensor that is telling the dashboard to turn on that light also be telling my cruise control to turn off? Can I somehow turn that off to see if my cruise control would work? Thanks for any help you can give!

The system is tied to the brake pedal switch not E-brake. Do your brake lights work?

What year of car?

The cruise system has its own diagnostic system that outputs trouble codes.

Well I took the car to a friend who is pretty good a electric stuff and he determined that the single wire that tells the Cruise Control ECU that the parking brake is on is grounding itself somewhere under the dash, so he old me next time I'm under the dash to cut the red wire with a white strip. Well I found it yesterday cut 'em right up and now whether my parking brake light is on or not my cruise control works just fine! Hooray!

Just for others reference this was on a 93.
