Default 2000 Camry 2.2 5-sp - rebuilt engine question (did I get a 3sfe?)

I have a 2000 Camry 2.2 5-speed. I destroyed the engine a few weeks ago (broken connecting rod, damaged valves, scored cylinder wall, etc.). I ordered a rebuilt engine from AutoZone. The rebuilder is Marshall. The rebuilt engine's serial number has been removed. The new engine does not have threaded holes for the transmission braces. The bosses are there but they are flat, not drilled.

After speaking with a local used JDM engine importer, I am concerned I received a 3sfe instead of a 5sfe. My questions:

Without the engine serial number, and with the head and oil pan installed, how can I tell if I have a 3sfe or 5sfe? The head is also rebuilt, but may not be the same head that came with the engine originally, however if it is from a 3sfe, that will be very strong evidence.

Did all 1997-2001 USA Camry 5sfe engines have threaded holes for the transmission braces, or was that only certain years, or manual transmission cars?

Are the transmission braces necessary? Anyone running without them for any length of time without negative consequences?

Suggest calling Marshall and asking about the differences. The must know what the have l in order to market the engine to the correct vehicles.

Check the stroke, 3SFE = 86 mm, 5SFE = 90.9

I have 2003 Toyota Camry which has a blown engine. Can someone recommend a low mileage engine or rebuilt engine ?

Head gasket busted on mine. I see used engines with 100,000 miles are being sold for $1500. Can I get some suggestions here ?

I live in Houston and all I see is junk yards here. I feel comfortable buying a rebuilt engine.
